Geometry is an important topic in mathematics. Since there are successful applications in various fields, like medical image analysis, computer graphics and visions, it has recently attracted much attention. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging tool to learn from data. It has been proved to be effective for image processing, image analysis and different industrial applications. In this project, our goal is to explore various industrial applications of geometry and AI, including shape analysis of 3D model, surface flattening and surface matching, to build 3D camera and surface recognition system.

Example of texture maps on surface meshes. Left: Two raw 3D meshes representing human faces. Right: 2D images are mapped onto the surface meshes through quasiconformal parameterizations for surface textures. Accurate texture mapping is crucial in computer graphics for realistic visualization of 3D models

Uniqueness and Competitive Advantages:

  • High accuracy
  • High efficiency
  • Geometry preserving
  • Data-driven model
Using CQC, accurate one-to-one correspondence between the hippocampal surfaces can be obtained. With that, systematic shape analysis can be carried out for disease analysis
